The same cold storm bringing spotty rain and mountain snow to California today will shift to the Four Corners Friday into this weekend.

Snow will arrive Friday night across the Wasatch Mountains of southern Utah and the mountains of northern Arizona.

The snow will then spread into the San Juan Mountains and Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Colorado, followed by the San Andres Mountains in New Mexico Saturday into Sunday.

Travel through mountain passes will be very dangerous as roadways become snow-packed and icy.

Visibility will also be quite limited during heavier pockets of snow.

If you will be heading to any of the major ski resorts, be prepared for difficult travel this weekend.

Mountainous locations such as Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Telluride and Flagstaff will all be impacted.

It will be a wetter rather than whiter story in the lower elevations. Heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms will affect Phoenix, Las Vegas and Tucson.

This storm has the potential to cause major delays at airports. Be sure to continue monitoring this upcoming storm with AccuWeather.com.
