Teen Becomes Youngest to Scale Seven Summits

A British teenager has become the youngest person to scale the world's Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each of Earth's seven continents.
Britain's George Atkinson set the new record as he stood atop Mount Everest , the highest peak in the world, yesterday, reports Discovery News.
The 16-year-old bested American Johnny Collinson, who finished the Seven Summits challenge last year at age 17.
The six other peaks that round out the Seven Summits challenge are Russia's Mount Elbrus (Europe), Indonesia's Carstensz Pyramid (Asia), Argentina's Mount Aconcagua (South America), Alaska's Mount McKinley (North America) and Antarctica's Mount Vinson .
