Dog Falls from Yacht, Survives on Remote Island

Sophie Tucker, a dog, fell off a yacht during bad weather in what are said to be "ferocious shark-infested seas" off the coast of Queensland inside the Great Barrier Reef. Owner Jan Griffith thought the dog was lost forever. But the dog swam to the remote St. Bees Island, where there are some goats and a handful of locals. Sophie Tucker was reunited with her owner four months later, while a few goats turned up dead.
