Vast underwater forests grow on the sea bottom; collectively, they cover more area than the entire Indian continent.

Thomas Wernberg is a professor of marine biology at the University of Western Australia. Thomas’ work focuses on impacts of climate and human pressure, on the resilience of marine communities to stress and disturbance. Thomas received a doctorate in Marine Biology from the University of Western Australia in 2003, and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Roskilde University, Denmark in 1998. Thomas is also a senior researcher at the Institute of Marine Research in Norway.
